My name is Jessica Olson, and I am a certified birth and postnatal doula as well as a lactation counselor. I serve expectant families in ​Northern Colorado and surrounding areas. I have been drawn to birth work and pregnancy for many years and have been asked to assist ​in many different circumstances. This is where my passion came from and has drawn me to get certified to be able to follow my dream ​of working with expectant mothers.

My approach to birth work is an evidence-based approach. I like to provide clients with evidence-based knowledge to assist them in ​making an informed decision about their care.

I prioritize connecting my clients with other perinatal professionals that can support them during pregnancy and postpartum as needed. ​While in labor, you can expect me to softly encourage you through the rough spots, be your voice and assist you in getting what you want ​or need, as well as make sure that your birth partner is comfortable and able to confidently participate while bringing your baby into the ​world.

As your postnatal doula, I will give you encouragement and assistance with your breastfeeding journey if you choose that path. I am ​here for any questions in regard to your newborn baby and the care that they will need. I will check on you and make sure that you are ​feeling mentally healthy, and I will be that trusted person for you to lean on without giving you any judgment and refer you to higher care ​if needed.

My education was completed through Internation Doula Services. I am also a member of Evidence Based Birth. I am a medical ​assistant by trade and have extensive experience with newborns and their care through hands on experience over the years. I ​continue to educate myself in these areas as there are always new approaches and new ideas regarding birth work and infant ​care.

I will be your biggest cheerleader and your strongest support system to get you through this most amazing time! I am so excited to start ​this relationship with you and be able to form a successful partnership so that you are able to have the birth experience that you desire!
